Join us to celebrate the 100th birthday of Ruth Slenczynska, world-renowned concert pianist and Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Artist-in-Residence and music professor emerita. The last surviving student of Sergei Rachmaninoff, Ruth Slenczynska has performed more than 3,000 recitals and concerts in many countries around the world and has appeared with most of the world's great orchestras. She retired from the SIUE music faculty in 1988 and continued to teach until the year 2000, culminating in a brilliant 36 year career at SIUE. The concert will feature performances from former and current SIUE pianists, including Dr. Angela Kim. There will be a reception following the concert. Stay tuned for more details!
